Why Walkware
An architect who couldn't stand how tools are carried
Atelier AlterFounder of Walkware · architect, Atelier AlterI'm an architect, and I use a lot of tools. How they're carried always bothered me: cases that are too big, accessories everywhere, a plier lost at the bottom of the bag. So I started making my own, and people wanted to buy them.
I make them the way I design buildings: set the module, then the components, then the joints. Each plate is only 3.6 mm thick, every part uses the same magnet, and the flattest classic tools come together in one system. Snap on what you need.
The name comes from the portable cassette players of my childhood, which shrank music down to pocket size. To me they were some of the best industrial design of their time. Walkware tries to do the same for tools.
